New Trust Registration Requirements by 1st September 2022
All express trusts (even if no tax liability) must register with the Trust Registration Services (TRS) by 1st September 2022.
An express trust is one which is created deliberately by a settlor (eg family discretionary trust) rather than a trust created through the operation of the law or a court decision.
Anyone who thinks they may need to register a trust with HMRC should get in touch as soon as possible to discuss.
