Personal Tax Assistant
Our busy tax department is looking to recruit a personal tax assistant to join its team. As part of the tax team, the successful candidate will undertake a range of duties including;
- Preparation of personal tax returns for director clients, landlords and sole traders.
- Reviewing and updating tax codes.
- Preparation of end of year P11D forms.
- Administrative duties to assist more senior staff.
- Liaising with HMRC for progress chasing, updating Self Assessment records etc.
The role will ideally suit a graduate who is looking to expand their knowledge in the accountancy field, but we will consider a non graduate if the individual shows a keen interest. It will involve regular communication with clients and HMRC, so excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work well within a team is essential. There may be the opportunity to study towards professional tax exams in the future such as the ATT.

Part Qualified/Experienced Accountant
Based in West Ferry, Dundee FourM Chartered Accountants are a busy accountancy firm who are looking to recruit a Part Qualified/Experienced Accountant to join our friendly team on a permanent basis.

We provide a wide range of services and work collaboratively across the Firm to ensure that our clients receive the very best advice.
You will be working with a varied client portfolio providing accountancy services including annual accounts preparation and corporation tax computations
If you have at least two years experience working in practice and excellent organisational skills we would be keen to meet you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing management and statutory accounts for a range of owner managed businesses (sole traders, partnerships and limited companies)
- Drafting of Personal and Corporation Tax computations
- Liaising with clients by email, phone and face to face to build effective working relationships
- Coaching/assisting junior staff members
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team
- Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of accounting standards, corporation and personal tax
- Managing your workload to meet deadlines
The ideal candidate will be :
- Part qualified/qualified by experience with a minimum of 2 years experience working in an Accountancy Firm
- Experience of Sage ,CCH, Xero, and other accounts software would be an advantage.
- Competent in the preparation of sole trader and FRS102 Limited Company accounts
- Able to deliver first class service to clients and colleagues alike
- Good attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Ability to manage your own workload and work on own initiative to meet tight deadlines

Accounts Assistant

Career Opportunity - Graduate CA Trainee
The opportunity for you
We have an exciting opportunity available for a university graduate to join our firm as a trainee in August 2024. From day one the successful candidate will get to assist on the audit of larger clients and preparation of accounts and tax for smaller clients below the audit threshold.
Audit involves carrying out a detailed examination of a company’s records and business environment, it allows you to get hands on experience of what makes companies tick with lots of opportunities to interact with our clients while gaining technical knowledge and honing your professional judgement.
We are an ICAS registered training firm, and a 3-year contract would be given with a view to completing the graduate entry ICAS qualification. This qualification is much sought after and provides an excellent foundation for any audit, accountancy, or business career.
